Diagnostic Imaging
Advanced imaging allows us to look beneath the surface and better understand your cat’s health. Our clinic offers feline diagnostic imaging, including digital X-rays and ultrasound, to evaluate organs, bones, and soft tissues. These tools help us diagnose injuries, internal diseases, and many other conditions quickly and accurately. Imaging plays an important role in developing effective treatment plans for your cat.
X-Ray
X-rays (radiographs) are excellent for evaluating bones, the overall shape/size of organs, and the lungs. They allow us to identify things like fractures, arthritis, bladder stones, blockages in the GI tract, and changes in the heart and lungs. X-rays are often one of the first diagnostic tools used when a cat is injured, has breathing issues, or is experiencing pain.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound on the other hand, uses sound waves to create real-time images of your cat’s internal organs. It is especially useful for examining soft tissues such as the liver, kidneys, bladder, intestines, and heart. Ultrasound helps us evaluate organ structure, detect abnormalities like masses or inflammation, and guide certain procedures with precision.
Signs Your Cat May Need X-rays or an Ultrasound
Diagnostic imaging allows veterinarians to look inside the body and identify problems that cannot be seen during a physical exam.
Your cat may benefit from imaging if they have:
Persistent vomiting
Unexplained weight loss
Breathing difficulties
Abdominal pain or swelling
Lameness or suspected injury
Abnormal bloodwork results
When your cat isn’t feeling well, diagnostic imaging can help us quickly identify the problem. Our digital X-rays and ultrasound allow us to look deeper and diagnose many conditions. Call today to schedule an appointment for your cat.

Advanced Abdominal Ultrasound for Cats
Abdominal ultrasound is a powerful, non-invasive tool that allows us to evaluate your cat’s internal organs in real time, helping us diagnose conditions quickly and accurately. Our clinic offers in-house abdominal ultrasound performed by exceptionally experienced ultrasonographers using a brand-new, state-of-the-art imaging system designed for high-resolution detail. This combination of advanced technology and extensive expertise allows us to identify subtle abnormalities, guide treatment decisions, and provide answers with minimal stress to your cat. Many ultrasounds are performed gently and without sedation, keeping your cat comfortable throughout the process.
