Our Practice

The Cat Clinic at Cherry Hill was founded in 1997 by Dr. John J. McCauley, a board-certified Feline Specialist through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.  In 2025, The Cat Clinic at Cherry Hill transitioned into the capable hands of Dr. Amanda Kennedy who shares that same deep commitment to the specialized needs of cats.  She brings with her several years of experience after working in two busy feline-only practices.  Dr. Kennedy is also a board-certified Feline Specialist through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Together, they are the only two ABVP board-certified feline specialists in New Jersey.

We know that vet visits can be stressful—for both cats and their owners. That’s why we’ve created a calm, cat-only environment designed to put everyone at ease. Our team uses gentle, low-stress handling techniques and soothing feline pheromones to help your cat feel safe and comfortable from the moment you arrive. Every detail of our clinic is tailored to the unique needs of cats, so you can relax knowing your feline friend is in expert, compassionate hands.

The Cat Clinic at Cherry Hill is proud to remain a family-owned and operated veterinary practice.

We are proud to be one of the few remaining locally owned veterinary practices in the area. Our focus is on building lasting relationships with our clients and their cats. When you come to our clinic, you’ll see the same familiar faces and the same caring veterinarian at each visit. We take the time to get to know you and your cat, providing personalized care from kittenhood through their golden years. Our commitment is to treat every cat as if they were our own, and every client as part of our extended family.

Located in Cherry Hill, minutes from the Cherry Hill Mall, the Cat Clinic at Cherry Hill is convenient to many surrounding towns including Maple Shade, Mount Laurel, Moorestown, Pennsauken, Merchantville, Collingswood, Haddon Township, Haddonfield, Marlton, Audobon, Marlton, Delran, and more.

Our Policies

  • New Jersey state law requires that all veterinarians have an active Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) with you and your cat before we can prescribe medication and prescription diets.  To maintain a VCPR, we are required to perform a complete physical exam of your cat at a minimum of once per year.  If we have not seen your cat in the past year and a medication or prescription diet is requested, we would be happy to schedule an exam so that we have a valid VCPR with you.

Please allow 24 hours for medication refills after placing your request. Be advised that messages and refill requests left after hours or on weekends will be answered the following business day – please plan accordingly for your cat’s medication refills.

Prescription medication cannot be returned due to safety and legal restrictions.

  • The Cat Clinic at Cherry Hill sees patients as appointments to ensure every cat gets the time and care they deserve.  We will always try to fit in same day “urgent” visits for our patients as our schedule allows.

We also understand how busy many clients are during the day, and therefore we offer “drop off” services that allow clients whose cats need an examination or procedure to bring the cat to us in the morning and pick him up later in the day or evening. We also offer evening appointments for convenience.

For the safety of all our patients, all cats must arrive in a secure carrier or on a harness and leash.

  • Payment is due in full at the time services are provided.  We accept a variety of payment methods, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash, personal checks, and will coordinate with most pet insurance plans.

We are always happy to provide you with a written estimate of fees for routine services.  It is our policy to provide you with a written estimate of fees for any case where in-hospital treatment, emergency care, surgery, or hospitalization will be provided. Estimates are provided as a guide based on the anticipated services. Final charges may vary depending on the time required and the complexity of care determined during your cat’s visit and treatment.

A deposit prior to treatment may be required depending on the amount of the anticipated cost of services.
